“There is a motor within that does not understand neutral…”
Before I knew anything about science, it loomed as mystery and beauty – I would have imagined whales fighting with giant squids, or jellyfish bursting from the deep like translucent, living pieces of jewelry, or adventures exploring new species in the Arctic or desert or jungle. I was drawn to the abstraction of science as influenced by Papa’s fantasies, Mama’s intuition and my own musings.
“When I first overheard two colleagues at work talking about attending my funeral, I thought it was some kind of sick joke. How could I be dead – a corpse, a piece of meat – and at work at the same time? … Well, strange as it may seem, I was dead and at work. Trust me.”
Joram turned to writing following a successful career in science. To his surprise, the two have a lot in common.
